Hey! It’s Deb — WELCOME!
In late 2022, I embarked on an unforgettable journey to Europe. Part 1 of this adventure took me to Przemysl, Poland. I spent 10 days volunteering with two small NGOs, Hope Shelter is located in Poland. I also worked with UAid Direct. UAid Direct is a Ukranian charity secured and delivered aid donated from all over to world to front line villages in Ukraine. This experience was eye-opening and life-changing. It offered me a profound perspective on the resilience and strength of the human spirit. It lifted my soul and gave my life new meaning … a new purpose.
During my time there, I launched a blog, “In Another Person’s Shoes,” to share this journey and invite readers to walk alongside me as I navigated this remarkable human experience. This blog became a space for detailed stories, heartfelt moments, and the incredible encounters I had along the way. Sadly, life intervened for a while, along with the available time I had to write and share my stories.
This blog was previously an avenue I used to reach out for support, seeking donations to help provide beds and mattresses for Hope Shelter, while simultaneously raising funds for the volunteers I worked along with at UAid-Direct. Thanks to the generosity of so many, we were able to make a tangible difference in the lives of those in need. Now, as I reflect on this journey, I’m filled with gratitude for the experiences. I met such amazing people and will always feel privileged to work alongside of them.
A new chapter
This chapter of my life has shaped who I am and I’m excited to announce that I am back to sharing my adventures and insights with you. My blog will now include personal stories from both my volunteer experiences and my personal travels, offering a blend of heartfelt moments and adventurous tales.
